Join us for a sketch Comedy show in Mesa.
An evening of comedy and entertainment as we showcase the best sketches from our weekend intensive sketch writing class. Our talented performers will bring to life the sketches they’ve been working on over the weekend, all co-written with our experienced instructor Valerie Vasilas. You’ll see a variety of sketch styles and topics. All with the signature humor and wit that comes from great sketch writing. Our performers will have you laughing and cheering from start to finish. And if you’re interested in sketch writing yourself, this is a great opportunity to see the process in action and get inspired.
About the instructor:
Valerie Vasilas is a performer, writer, director, producer, teacher, a mover and a shaker, and the wearer of many other hats. She got her start in comedy because she thought that she invented improv.
(it was her college thesis and she went around calling it “unscripted theatre”).
She has trained at iO West, The Pack Theater, and The School for Theatre Creators. Her background is in physical theatre, where she’s trained in Commedia dell’Arte, clown, mask and puppetry.
Valerie is a founding member of Moonshot, a Pack Theater house sketch team. Currently based out of Denver, she is the director of the Rise Comedy Theater’s sketch program and the director for Snack Table, the Rise house sketch team. She has had her digital content featured on WhoHaHa, Funny or Die, as well as at live events in New York City and Los Angeles. She loves kale, potatoes, and burritos.
