5 Things You Didn’t Know About the Month of December
- December is full of some wacky days… and NOT just the ones you already know about. December 11th is International Mountain Day, so be sure you have a card ready for all your favorite international mountains. December 13th is both National Violin Day and AND the National Day of the Horse. You can expect your violin and horse to be expecting equal amounts of attention. December 20th is National Underdog Day and December 26th is National Candy Cane Day- which seems like a weird date to pick. Maybe it is because all the Candy Canes go on sale on the 26th? - The Full Cold Moon is Coming… watch out for Full Cold Werewolves? December’s full Moon, the Full Cold Moon, rises in the evening of Wednesday, December 11, reaching peak fullness at 12:12 A.M. EST on the 12th. Read more about the Full Cold Moon.
- Tanzanite is giving Turquoise a run for its money... December’s traditional birthstone is turquoise. It is considered a symbol of good fortune and success. Zircon and tanzanite are also considered to be December birthstones. And it kind of seems like just anything can be anyone’s birthstone so, come down to NCT and we will personally assign you your very own unique birthstone… and it will either be Turquoise, Tanzanite or Zircon.
- It’s more than just wacky days… December is an entire wacky month… Not only is it Egg Nog Month, which seems obvious, December is also Bingo Month, Fruitcake Month and Write to a Friend Month. Really, the Bingo thing seems to be the only theme out of place. Do we think that Santa really loves Bingo?
