The Main Street Comedy Show is a delightful mix of storytelling and improv comedy that you do not want to miss! Each show features a guest Storyteller who will delight and amuse the audience with anecdotes from their lives, after which the performers create spontaneous comedy inspired by these tales!
Ernesto Ortiz is a stand-up comedian & storyteller from the West Phoenix neighborhood of Maryvale. He began performing stand-up in 2012 and quickly gained a following for his quick humor and fearless attitude. Ernesto describes his comedy as a celebration of and journey into the complex world of a bilingual, US-born, Latinx, LGBTQ person obsessed with cat videos, crocheting, and Zac Efron.
Outside of comedy, Ernesto combines his love for the arts and kids with a long career in fundraising as the Director of Development for Childsplay Theatre Company. In his role, armed with a team of talented artists and fundraising professionals, he helps provide children, schools, and families access to essential theatre and arts education programming throughout Arizona and the United States.
